Volunteering your time with Boys & Girls Club of the West Valley makes a meaningful difference in the lives of local youth and strengthens our entire community!

Volunteers are asked to support either our programs, administration, or take on a service project on one of our facilities.

All volunteers must complete an application, background checks, provide 3 references and attend a volunteer orientation.

Upon arriving at their designated site, volunteers must sign in and out on the volunteer tracker. Volunteers must also wear identifying BGCWV gear.

Safety is the number one priority at the Club. Therefore, our Volunteers are expected to comply with our onboarding process before they are welcomed onto our sites.

The process to volunteer is outlined here:

Complete a Volunteer Application.
Complete a phone interview with the Volunteer Coordinator to discuss volunteer interest.
If your application is accepted, you will receive an email to complete an Annual Background Check through First Advantage.
Depending on how often you plan to volunteer, you may be asked to complete a Live Scan at a partnering agency. (If you volunteer 16 hours/month or 32 hours/year).
Provide an updated negative TB Test reading.
Complete the mandatory BGCA-approved online training and submit proof of completion to BGC Staff.
Sign our Club Safety Policies including; restroom policy, prohibition of private one on one policy and volunteer guidelines.

The first step is to submit your Volunteer Application. After you have done so,we will be in touch via email to support you with onboarding.

Locations of Work

Our Club’s sites are located throughout the West San Fernando Valley. Currently, you will find us at Blythe Elementary (Reseda), Reseda Elementary (Reseda), Stanley Mosk Elementary (Winnetka), Justice St. Academy Charter (West Hills), Haynes Charter for Enriched Studies (West Hills), Woodland Hills Elementary (Woodland Hills), Serrania Charter for Enriched Studies (Woodland Hills), Calabash Charter Academy (Woodland Hills), Canoga Park High School (Canoga Park), Chatsworth High School (Chatsworth), Cleveland High School (Reseda), and the Gary M. Thomas Clubhouse & Teen Center (Canoga Park).

In the years I have been volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club of the West Valley I have been continually gratified at the character and intelligence of the young people at the Club. I have confidence in the future because of them.
